Who is Happy Valley's Top Chef? "There is no love sincerer than love of food." - George Bernard Shaw We are very pleased to announce that we are joining forces with Appalachian Food Works and the Downtown State College Improvement District to present: The 2019 Golden Basket Cooking Competition! How it works: On July 27, July 30, August 1, and August 2 there will be a qualifying competition at area Farmers markets each of those days, where the general public will taste what chefs have prepared from fresh market ingredients. Each attendee will be able to vote for their favorite, and the winner of each market will advance to the Golden Basket Finals. These qualifying events are free and open to the public! On August 3rd from 4-9PM at MLK Plaza on Fraser Street in Downtown State College, the Golden Basket Finals will be held. Tickets will be $25 and proceeds from ticket sales will benefit App Food Works. Local food prepared by restaurants will be included in the price! We will also have local beer on tap, as well as local musicians and cooking demonstrations. A panel of judges will determine this year's Golden Basket winner! |
